WINDER -- The city's zoning board of appeals Tuesday evening approved a conditional-use request for Connie Wilbanks to open a children's day care center at 74 Church St. The center, to be named Cribs and Crayons, will occupy the existing structure at that address, which is located in the Winder historic downtown district.
According to city planner Barry Edgar, Wilbanks should not have any problems or delays in preparing the structure to be a day care center.
Annexation/rezoning approved
An annexation and rezoning of the .45 acre property located at 378 East Broad St. in Winder was approved Tuesday, with owner John Wilkerson requesting single-family high density zoning instead of the single-family residential zoning the property had in Barrow County.
Grocery store/restaurant granted alcohol licenses
ALDI grocery store and Pier 81 Seafood Restaurant in Winder were both issued alcohol beverage licenses Tuesday, with the supermarket planning to sell beer and wine by the package, and the restaurant planning to serve beer and wine by the drink.
