ATLANTA (AP) — Police say they're investigating a hit-and-run accident that left a motorcyclist dead in metro Atlanta.
DeKalb County police say the Sunday night collision happened at Moreland Avenue and South River Industrial Boulevard.
A witness, L.C. Wheat, said that he was sitting in his car at the intersection when he saw a car collide with the motorcycle, sending the bike flying into the air.
Wheat says the motorist who struck the bike drove off, so he called 911 and began following the driver.
Authorities say a motorist was taken into custody in connection with the crash. Details of the arrest were not immediately available early Monday.
The identity of the motorcyclist who was killed was not released.
