Peachtree Christian Hospice (PCH), a 16-bed inpatient facility located in Duluth, is excited to announce that former Atlanta Falcon's wide receiver, Brian Finneran, is this year's honorary chairman of its 12th Annual Golf Classic to be held on October 1 at St. Ives Country Club in Johns Creek.
"We are thrilled and honored to have Brian serve as our honorary chairman of the Golf Classic. He is an outstanding community icon and a remarkable athlete who is an inspiration to people of all ages. In this role, Brian is helping PCH bring our annual golf campaign to a whole new level," said Bill Todd, co-chair of the PCH Board of Directors.
The tournament, in the format of "select drive, two best balls of the foursome," is an important fund raiser to benefit PCH and the patients they serve who are facing a life-limiting illness. In addition to numerous corporate supporters,
Palmer Dodge is sponsoring the "hole-in-one" prize with a new Dodge sports car.
The event will begin at 9 a.m. with a continental breakfast, warm-up at the range, lunch, and an “After-Golf Par-tee” to enjoy wines, an array of hors d'oeuvres, a silent auction of sports memorabilia, and a selection of prizes and giveaways. Mayor Mike Bodker of Johns Creek will welcome the golfers and launch the shot-gun start.
