ROME — Mill Creek had three runner finish in the top 10 as it won the Clara Bowl Invitational at Berry College on Saturday.
The Hawks scored 76 points to beat Marietta (80 points) and St. Pius (114). Parkview was sixth with 188 points. It was the second meet won by Mill Creek, which also took first at the Stage Races.
Mill Creek was led by Matt Tippins' fifth place finish and a time of 16 minutes, 24 seconds. Eric Westog (16:33) was seventh and Sven Hope (16:52) was ninth. Tyler Woodrome (17:07) was 17th and Josh Arceneaux (17:34) was 38th.
Parkview was led by Nick Schofer's (17:01) 15th place finish and Alec Harp (17:13) was 20th.
Wesleyan was eighth in the A-AAAA race. Robert Kunce led the Wolves with a 30th place a time of 17:59.
Brickell, Mills lead Lions to Covered Bridge title
ROSWELL — Peachtree Ridge's Josh Brickell and Kevin Mills finished one-two at the Covered Bridge Invitational on Saturday. That was good enough to help the Lions score 46 points and hold off Milton for the team title.
Brickell, the two-time defending state champion, posted a time of 15 minutes, 48.14 seconds. Mills had a time of 16:30.04 and Evan Beck finished seventh with a time of 17:24.73. Nathan Adams (17:40.90) was 15th, Isaac Penman (17:56.46) was 21st, Cameron Roy (18:18.14) was 37th, freshman Nate Reichard (18:50.32) was 61st.
Shiloh's Kamau, Solomon go 2-3 at meet
FAYETTEVILLE — Shiloh's Bryan Kamau and Nahom Solomon finished second and third, respectively, at Panthers XC Invitational on Saturday.
Kamau had a time of 16 minutes, 18.92 seconds, while Solomon had a time of 16:27.22.
Shiloh finished eighth overall as a team with 230 points. Union Grove won the meet with 100 points.
Lions win Covered Bridge title
ROSWELL — Peachtree Ridge had five runners finish in the top 20 as it won the Covered Bridge Invitational on Saturday. The Lions scored 68 points to beat Milton's 73 points.
Laurel Wilson (20:17.44), Paige Tucker (20:17.44) and Caroline Williams (20:55.25) finished 10th, 11th and 12th, respectively. Addy Lippit (21:01.63) followed with a 16th place finish, Lexi Shy (21:05.64) was 19th, Bethany Cryan (21:21.33) was 25th and Haley Spears (21:22.16) was 26th.
Mountain View runner-up at meet
CLARKESVILLE — Mountain View took second at the Mountain Eagle Invitational on Saturday. The Bears scored 59 points to finish behind Winder-Barrow's 31 points.
Freshman Leonora Luce led the Bears with a fourth-place finish and a time of 22:40.88. Rebecca Winslow (23:00.91) was fifth, Britton Bree (24:08.01) was 12th, Katie Roller (24:24.41) was 15th, Julie Gomez (25:02.66) was 23rd, Ashley Lewis (25:06.46) was 24th and Katie Wirl (25:14.36) was 27th.
Wesleyan girls fifth at Clara Bowl Invitational
ROME — Wesleyan's Jordan Zimmerman finished in 13th place to lead the Wolves to a fifth-place finish at the Clara Bowl Invitational at Berry College on Saturday.
The Wolves scored 168 points in the Class A-AAAA meet. Zimmerman had a time of 21 minutes, 25 seconds.
