North class of 2002 to have 10-year reunion
The North Gwinnett High School class of 2002 will have its 10-year reunion on Sept. 15 at the SweetWater Brewery. The event will begin at 7 p.m. and the cost is $55 per person. Co-Op, Kiwanis golf tourney held on Tuesday
The North Gwinnett Co-Op and Kiwanis Club of North Gwinnett are hosting a “Fall Classic Golf Tournament” at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday at Legacy on Lanier Golf Club. The individual player entry fee is $125. The fee includes greens fee, cart and range balls, a gate fee to Lake Lanier Islands Tournament, a gift and goody bag, breakfast, a buffet lunch, a “Shoot-out contest” for $100,000, closest to the pin and long drive awards and low gross and net score winners.

Citizens Police Academy to begin Oct. 2
The Suwanee Police Department is once again offering its popular Citizens Police Academy. Over the past eight years, more than 300 individuals have participated in this hands-on, eight-week program. Classes for this session will be offered at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesdays beginning Oct. 2 at the Suwanee Police Department’s new training facility/substation at 2966 Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road. (Class during the second week will be held on Monday evening, Oct. 8.) Those who wish to participate must provide notarized applications by 5 p.m. Sept. 21.
George Pierce hosts senior classes this fall
George Pierce Park’s Prime Timers Pointe will be the host of computer-oriented classes for seniors this fall. The Gwinnett Senior Learning Center will offer single and multi-session workshops that will cover word processing, digital imaging, PowerPoint, genealogy and meet your camera. Dance team to create Flash Mob
The North Gwinnett High School Dance Team and Break Dance Crew is looking for people who want to join the Suwanee Day Flash Mob. The dance team will partner with Royal Dance Academy. Rehearsals will be on Thursday afternoons at 2:30 p.m. leading up to Suwanee Day. No dance experience is necessary. Community garden applications available
Applications for plots in Suwanee’s Harvest Farm Community Garden for next year will be accepted from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Oct. 3, at White Street Park, where the community garden is located. The garden’s 76 plots are available first to city of Suwanee residents. The annual fee for a plot ranges from $50-$100, depending upon the size of the plot requested. City residents receive a 25 percent discount.
