LAWRENCEVILLE -- Volunteers can sign up now for Gwinnett's annual Great Days of Service event.
The event includes more than 300 service projects on Oct. 5 and 6. It is one of the largest volunteer initiatives in the country, a press release said.
"I had such a good time working with the volunteers from the Gwinnett Great Days of Service. Thank you so much to the amazing volunteers from Gwinnett Technical College and the surrounding community that volunteered their time and energy at Annandale Village today," said volunteer Barbara Huffman in the press release. "Volunteers painted the exterior of one of our residential houses, built and painted bird houses with our Villagers, and took several Villagers on a bike ride around campus. They were terrific. Gwinnett Days of Service is a day on, not a day off. Thanks to the team at the Gwinnett Coalition for putting on this great effort. I am so inspired by the event, that I will be involved as a volunteer this year."
Last year, about 80,000 volunteers participated in the event, which is hosted by the Gwinnett Coalition for Health and Human Services in partnership with United Way of North Metro Atlanta.
To sign up, go to www.GwinnettGreatDaysOfService.Org.
This year's volunteers will receive reward points for DoGoodRewards.com/store, where people can get benefits including massages, restaurant gift cards and more.
