LAWRENCEVILLE -- The Gwinnett Braves have announced two off-season events set to take place at Coolray Field on Oct. 6, including a public safety festival and community craft and neighborhood yard sale.
The 2012 Public Safety Fall Festival will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 6, while the Community Craft and Neighborhood Yard sale is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The G-Braves are teaming up with the Gwinnett County Police Department and the Gwinnett County Fire Department for the public safety fall fest, featuring new attractions and entertainment for the whole family. Those who attend can watch police and fire departments battle it out in a series of softball games, explore the car show, take part in the blood drive and enjoy numerous kids activities at the event.
The G-Braves also are hosting the first ever Community Craft and Neighborhood Yard Sale from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Lot A next to Coolray Field. It's a fundraising opportunity for churches, neighborhoods, organizations, small groups and families to participate as a vendor.
Vendors are also welcome to sell craft items, baked goods, furniture, collectibles, clothes and other merchandise, and they can keep 100 percent of the profit. Lot fees will benefit both the Atlanta Braves Foundation and local non-profit groups through the Gwinnett Braves Grant Program.
Those interested in purchasing a lot can download a registration form online at www.gwinnettbraves.com or email email@example.com.
