Duluth quarterback Will DeLorenzo won online voting this week as the Daily Post's Fans Choice Player of the Week.
The senior quarterback got 45 percent of the vote to win a competition with Mill Creek's Jacorey Lewis (22 percent), Central Gwinnett's Eman Westmoreland (22 percent) and Norcross' Alvin Kamara (10 percent).
Each week during the football season, the Daily Post will nominate four players for its Fans Choice Player of the Week. Online voting at www.gwinnettprepsports.com will begin Monday mornings and will end Thursdays at noon. The winner will be featured online and in the Friday print edition.
DeLorenzo earned the award after completing 19 of 25 passes for 217 yards and two touchdowns last Friday, helping the Wildcats rally past Berkmar 22-15.
"Will did a good job of keeping us in the ball game," Duluth head coach Corey Jarvis said. "He was able to move around when Berkmar put pressure on us and at the end he threw two great passes with us being down, one on a blitz when he knew he was going to get hit. And leadership-wise, he kept us grounded. We tend to panic when we get down, but he was on the sideline telling us we were going to get it back."
