SNELLVILLE -- Police are seeking public tips to catch a Snellville gas station burglar who reportedly made off with beer and a tobacco grinder.
The burglar was caught on tape after forcing entry through a window at a Shell Station in the 1900 block of U.S. Highway 78 in Snellville at about 12:30 a.m. Monday, police said. The business was closed at the time.
Snellville police Detective Laura Steele said the only items identified as missing are beer and the tobacco grinder -- worth about $15 total. The suspect tried but failed to open a cash register, which contained no money, Steele said.
Police describe the suspect as a light-skinned black, mixed race or Hispanic male, with a large stud earring in the upper portion of his left ear. He was wearing a large cross on a necklace at the time.
Anyone with information is urged to call the Snellville Police Department at 770-985-3555 or Detective Laura Steele at 770-985-7213.
