The city council set Suwanee’s millage rate for at 4.93 mills, a reduction of .72 mills from last year. This is the third straight year the millage rate has been reduced.

The city lowered the rate by the same amount, $642,429, it received from Gwinnett County as part of the Service Delivery Dispute settlement. In the next six years, Suwanee anticipates receiving about $660,000 annually from the county through this agreement.

The millage rate means that the owner of a $216,200 home, which represents Suwanee’s median value, would pay $426 in city taxes. That is $63, or about 13 percent, less than last year. The City of Suwanee will issue property tax notices in October with payment due by Dec. 20.
