SUWANEE -- Gwinnett County Public Schools Relay for Life teams raised more than $1 million in the fight against cancer. Among the 119 groups participating in the GCPS Relay for Life efforts, 25 school teams and three Central Office teams raised $10,000 or more.
The following teams raised more than $10,000:
Berkmar High School, Brookwood High School, Collins Hill High School, Couch Middle School, Creekland Middle School, Crews Middle School, Duluth High School, GCPS IMD, GCPS Instructional Support Center Relay Team, GCPS Transportation, Grayson High School, Mason Elementary School, McConnell Middle School, Mill Creek High School, Minor Patriots, Norcross High School, North Gwinnett High School, North Gwinnett Middle School, Parkview High School, Peachtree Ridge High School, Pharr Elementary School, Pinckneyville Middle School, Puckett's Mill Elementary School, Riverside Rockets, Shiloh Middle School, Simpson Elementary School, Snellville Middle School and Trickum Middle School.
Reptiles slither at Sugar Hill Christian Academy
SUGAR HILL -- Third-grade students at Sugar Hill Christian Academy enjoyed a recent visit from representatives of Smithgall Woods, a national park specializing in wildlife education.
The representatives talked to students about food chains, including reptiles.
Sugar Hill Christian Academy serves kindergarten through eighth grade and is dually accredited with the Southern Association of Colleges & Schools and the Association of Christian Schools International.
