NORCROSS -- A Norcross police officer was taken to the hospital with minor injuries Friday morning after his cruiser was struck by another driver, officials said.
Norcross Police Department spokesman Capt. Brian Harr said the 43-year-old officer, who was not identified, was traveling eastbound on Beaver Ruin Road at about 8:30 a.m. Friday when a westbound driver turned left in front of him near Norcross Parkway.
The officer was transported to Gwinnett Medical Center with minor injuries and "as a precaution," Harr said. The other driver reported injuries but was not transported, he said.
The accident remained under investigation Friday and no charges had been filed. It was not believed that alcohol or drugs played a factor.
