Blade Runner 30th Anniversary Blu-ray (R)
Movie: 4 stars
Disc: 4 stars
Director Ridley Scott's adaptation of the Philip K. Dick novel "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?" is the perfect hybrid of pot-boiler film noir and futuristic sci-fi and is far warmer than the brittle first view would indicate. Marking the career high-points of everybody in it with a speaking role, the film spawned a slew of imitators -- almost all of them bad -- and still holds up remarkably well even by today's meticulous technological standards. It's a classic by anyone's definition.
