Dacula running back/wide receiver Marcus Cox has committed to Appalachian State's football program, head coach Jared Zito confirmed on Thursday.
Cox chose the Division I-FCS power over nearly a dozen scholarship offers, including Florida International, Bowling Green, Middle Tennessee and Miami (Ohio).
The 5-foot-10, 185-pound senior is a three-year letterman for the Falcons as a running back and receiver.
He is in the top 10 in the county in rushing this season with 683 yards and six TDs. He has 17 catches for 283 yards and two TDs.
As a junior, Cox helped Dacula reach the quarterfinals of the Class AAAAA state playoffs. He rushed for 783 yards and 12 TDs and was the team's leading receiver with 36 catches for 503 yards and five TDs.
Cox is the second Dacula player to make a college commitment, joining receiver B.J. Clay who is headed to Georgia State.
