Georgia senior and Wesleyan grad Anne Marie Armstrong was named to the All-Southeastern Conference first team for women's basketball Tuesday after voting by league and national media.
Armstrong, who also got one player of the year vote, was joined on the first team by Kentucky's A'Dia Mathies, who received 20 of 26 player of the year votes, Florida's Jennifer George, Texas A&M's Kelsey Bone and Vanderbilt's Christina Foggie. Kentucky was picked to win the SEC title and Georgia was voted second.
Armstrong averaged 13.1 points in SEC play last season, earning first-team All-SEC honors. The 6-foot-3 guard/forward also led the Bulldogs in rebounds, assists, steals and blocks.
