Gwinnett Daily Post
Who: North Gwinnett's Jalen Brooks
Position: Linebacker
Class: Senior
Highlights: Had 10 tackles (six solos), one tackle for loss, an interception for a touchdown and a quarterback hurry in the Bulldogs' win over Habersham Central
Coach Bob Sphire's take: "Jalen has been making the transition from playing strong safety last year to outside linebacker this season. He had an outstanding game last Friday totaling 10 tackles against an option-oriented attack that requires discipline by defensive players to take care of their assigned responsibilities in defending the option. He capped off his excellent play against our opponents' run game with an interception and its return for a touchdown. His ability to play on the perimeter vs. passing attacks while also playing assignment football against the run game is important to our defense."
