BRASELTON -- A Braselton man was found dead Friday morning after an alleged shooting triggered a SWAT call.
Gwinnett County police spokesman Cpl. Edwin Ritter said Braselton police responded to a call of shots fired and tracked the suspect down to a home at 3520 Thompson Mill Road in Buford. Braselton authorities then reached out to Gwinnett officers, Ritter said.
"SWAT was called out and they were unsuccessful in making contact with the suspect," Ritter said.
The SWAT team then utilized a robot from the department's hazardous device unit. The robot, which is equipped with a camera, found the suspect in a bathroom, "dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound," Ritter said.
No further details regarding the original incident in Braselton were immediately available Friday.
