NORCROSS -- A local health organization will host a "prevention conference" later this month entirely in Spanish, aiming to help end suicide, alcohol and drug use in the Hispanic community.
CETPA is a nonprofit group dedicated to providing mental health and substance abuse services to Georgia's Latino community. From 9:30 a.m. to noon on Oct. 27, it will host the conference at its "prevention clubhouse" facilities in Norcross.
The event will be entirely in Spanish and cover the topics of prevention of suicide, alcohol and drugs; new drugs on the streets; and step-by-step prevention concepts. Presenters will include law enforcement, substance abuse counselors and others.
CETPA's prevention clubhouse is located in the Merchants Square Shopping Center at 4650 Jimmy Carter Boulevard, Suite 113 in Norcross.
Those who wish to attend can register by calling 678-646-5959 or visiting any of CETPA's offices.
