McCAYSVILLE, Ga. — A small earthquake has rattled North Georgia near the border of Tennessee and North Carolina.
The U.S. Geological Survey reported that the 2.5-magnitude tremor happened just after midnight Saturday. The epicenter was calculated to be at McCaysville.
Residents of nearby Blue Ridge said that the earthquake sounded like a bomb.
Officials said they received calls about the earthquake, but no damage was reported.
