The most popular dishes include the chicken tikka masala (chicken served in a creamy tomato sauce), tandoori chicken, which is cooked in the tandoor oven, and the kebabs, which are prepared differently than one would expect — over a charcoal grill shipped in from London.

The menu consists of Mexican food, but the establishment also offers Peruvian food. The three most popular meals that patrons order are the fajitas, burritos and tortas, a Mexican sandwich served on a specific type of bread. All of the sauces and salsas are made from scratch, including a white salsa.

• La Nonna’s Italian Restaurant

All of the recipes on the menu where passed down through owner Mario Zaino’s family.

“These recipes are my mother’s original recipes, my grandmother’s original recipes ... that were passed down,” he said. “The funny part is that it wasn’t just a recipe — it was a pinch of that or a handful of that.”

Zaino and his chef, Danny Gomez, had to go through the “recipes” to learn the correct measurements so the food would be consistent in flavor and quality.

• MJ Korean Tacos and Wings

Korean and Mexican? If it doesn’t make sense to you, here’s the deal: it’s Korean style meat topped with Asian inspired ingredients in a tortilla. Almost all of the toppings are made in-house, including the kimchi, a spicy pickled cabbage and all of the sauces for the wings, like “OH! mama” (a sweet garlic sauce), mango habanero — the hottest flavor for the wing selection — and sweet barbecue.

• Dagwood’s Pizza

Pizza, pizza and more pizza is on the menu, hand tossed with homemade dough and pizza sauce. The two most popular pies are the Dagwood deluxe and the carnivore, but the main attraction is the “Big Fella” — a 24-inch rectangular pizza that could feed a small army. Dagwood’s doesn’t just serve pizza — the menu has pasta, deli sandwiches, calzones, salads, wings and more. The sandwiches are made with Boar’s Head meat or something equivalent, real Swiss cheese (when ordered) and the bread comes from a local bakery called EPI de France.
