DULUTH- The Swine and Dandy Charity Cookoff is gearing up for its annual barbecue competition to raise money for the Pregnancy Resource Center of Gwinnett and the Gwinnett Medical Newborn Intensive Care Unit.
The festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday at Rodgers Bridge Park located at 4300 Rodgers Bridge Road in Duluth, It will feature an array of family friendly activities, including live country and blue grass music, cooking demonstrations, face painting, inflatables and crafts.
The public can buy samples of the barbecue from the competition as well as raffle tickets to win a grill or smoker.
The cookoff is hosted by PGA golfer Stewart Cink and his wife Lisa. The competition is comprised of professional and backyard teams in the categories of chicken, ribs, pork butt, and brisket. A $2,000 prize will be awarded to the overall winner with another $8,000 distributed to the top five entries in the overall and individual categories as selected by a panel of certified judges. There is also a People's Choice award voted upon by the public.
