LAWRENCEVILLE -- Gwinnett Technical College hosted its first dean's list reception last week with 200 honor students receiving awards from their respective deans.
"I think it is important to get to know your dean and other leaders in college administration, like those in student services, that can help enrich your college experience," said Steve Moyers, Dean of Health Sciences at Gwinnett Tech.
Jeffery Scott Bailey, a student majoring in Surgical Technology, attended the event.
"It's a moment to celebrate the hard work that I've done in the former semester and take a chance to take a look at what I'm doing now," said Bailey. "It's exciting to have that moment to take a breath, sit back and say, 'Wow, I really did that.'"
The reception was catered by Gwinnett Tech's Culinary Arts students. The reception was such a success that officials said it will become a Gwinnett Tech tradition.
