TIGER -- Lauren Frerking had 10 kills, while Kendra Koetter handed out 28 assists as No. 1 state-ranked Wesleyan moved into the Area 6-AA championship match with a 25-10, 25-19 sweep of host Rabun County in the semifinals of the area tournament Tuesday.
Jennifer Miller led the defensive effort with 15 digs, while Ashley Moody added five kills, Nikki McDonald had two kills and Kristen Pack chipped in two service aces to set the Wolves (32-11) up for a showdown with No. 2 GAC for the area title Thursday night at 6 at Wesleyan.

GAC sweeps into area final
TIGER -- Second-ranked GAC scored a 25-17, 25-18 sweep of Jefferson in Tuesday's semifinal round of the Area 6-AA tournament at Rabun County High School behind 10 kills from Emma Taylor and 10 digs from Emily Becker.
Tayler McPherson added six kills, while Jennie McCarthy doled out 15 assists as the Spartans (26-8) advanced to Thursday's championship match against top-ranked Wesleyan on Thursday at 6 p.m. at Wesleyan.
Taylor, McPherson, Becker, McCarty and Madison Kerr were all named to the All-Area team following Tuesday's play.
Buford rebounds for split
GAINESVILLE -- Buford fell to host North Hall 22-25, 25-21, 25-21 in its opening match of the Area 7-AAA tournament Tuesday, but rebounded to sweep Decatur 25-11, 25-21 in an elimination bracket later in the day.
Maggie Roper finished the day with 28 kills and 24 digs to lead the seventh-ranked Wolves (18-15), while Kaitlin Tatum added 17 kills and eight digs, Tori Payton distributed 53 assists and Mikhayla Riegel had 24 digs.
Buford continues play in the elimination bracket Thursday at 5 p.m. on its home court.
Brookwood wins two
LAWRENCEVILLE -- Brookwood closed out its regular season by sweeping host Mountain View 25-14, 25-22 and South Gwinnett 25-8, 25-15 on Tuesday.
Maggie Collins had nine kills and five blocks, while Clara Sims contributed seven kills and three blocks and Leslie Stinnett and Nicole Blanding added six kills apiece for the Broncos (20-18).
Mountain View earns split
LAWRENCEVILLE -- Mountain View salvaged a split of its senior night matches by rebounding from the Brookwood loss to beat South Gwinnett 25-15, 25-8 on Tuesday behind the setting of Kelsey Hutchins and the hitting of middle hitter Bria Virgil.
The Bears (17-21) open up play in the Area 6-AAAAAA tournament against Duluth on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. at Collins Hill.
North Gwinnett defeats Parkview in three sets
LILBURN -- MaTia Hughes had nine digs, seven service aces and 19 assists as No. 4 North Gwinnett swept past Parkview in a best-of-five match 25-7, 25-14, 25-17 on Thursday at Parkview.
The Bulldogs (37-6) also got seven kills from Alyssa Munlyn, plus seven kills and four aces from Miller Howard.
