SNELLVILLE -- Eastside Medical Center has named a new chief operating officer.
Callie Andrews was named COO of the Snellville hospital effective Oct. 1, officials said. She replaces former COO Dustin Greene, who, at the time of his appointment in 2008, was the youngest hospital COO in the state of Georgia.
Greene has taken a similar position at Skyline Medical Center in his hometown of Nashville, Tenn., Eastside spokeswoman Pattie Page said Monday.
Andrews earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia before receiving master's degrees in business and health care administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She began her career at Redmond Regional Medical Center in Rome, serving first as an administrative resident and later as associate chief operating officer.
"I am extremely pleased to announce that Callie has accepted the chief operating officer role," Eastside CEO Kim Ryan said in a statement. "Callie's extensive experience in health care will prove to be invaluable to our patients and community."
