LAWRENCEVILLE -- Don't shoot the messenger: Gwinnett property taxes are due in a week or so.
Mailed in early August, 2012 property tax bills are due on Monday, Oct. 15. There are several options for payment.
-- Online by check or credit card at GwinnettTaxCommissioner.com (paying by check is free, convenience fees apply for credit card transactions)
-- By mail to P.O. Box 372, Lawrenceville, GA 30046
-- By check using drop boxes 24 hours a day at all tax commissioner offices
-- In person during business hours at all tax commissioner offices
For more information, contact the office of Tax Commissioner Richard Steele at tax@gwinnettcounty.com or 770-822-8800.
Tax information should have been made available to the mortgage companies of property owners with escrow accounts, but officials said it is ultimately the responsibility of the property owner to ensure taxes are paid on time.
