PREP ROUNDUP: Brookwood girls win Disney meet

ORLANDO, Fla. -- The Brookwood girls cross country team won the Disney XC Classic on Saturday, defeating the nation's No. 22 ranked Mountain Brook (Ala.).

Due to a lot of rain, the course was a muddy mess with very high humidity and hot temperatures. Finishing in the top 15 overall was Ashley Buda, who was third overall with a time of 19 minutes, 54 seconds. QuanDra Shanks (19:59) was sixth, Holly Gunder (20:23) was ninth, Payton Wilson (20:27) was 10th and Laurel Sumner (20:52) was 15th. Also running well were Elyse Renshaw (21:10), who was 20th, Nina Thomason(21:23) was 23rd, Allie Myers (21:38) was 29th and Jessie Tankersley (22:11) was 39th.


Hawks 3-1 at play date

ALPHARETTA -- Mill Creek went 3-1 at the Centennial play date on Saturday.

The Hawks (39-8) defeated Kennesaw Mountain (25-9, 25-18), Centennial (25-19, 25-17), Mt. Pisgah (29-27, 25-15) and lost to Landmark Christian (25-27, 25-18, 6-15).

Emily Wylie had 25 kills, Cayla Graham had 22 kils and 14 digs, Kaitlyn Lattimer had 57 assists and Brittany Moore added eight aces and 18 digs.

Providence wins three at play date

ALPHARETTA -- Providence Christian defeated Mt. Pisgah, Kennesaw Mountain and Cennential, but lost to Landmark Christian at the Cenntennial play date on Saturday.

The Storm (29-12) was led by Maddie Jones' 31 kills and 21 digs, followed by Katie Scott (41 assists), Carly Dubay (42 digs) and Erin Yost (23) kills).
