SUWANEE -- On the first play of the second half, Collins Hill quarterback Brett Sheehan threw a lateral to receiver Julian Williams.

The senior found an open Quentin Jones down the left sideline for an easy 80-yard touchdown pass.

That play set the tone for the second half. Collins Hill scored 20 third-quarter points as it rolled to a 41-10 victory over rival Peachtree Ridge.

"This is such a big rivalry game," Collins Hill running back Tyler Henderson said. "I love that score after last year's game."

Peachtree Ridge beat Collins Hill on a last-second touchdown a year ago.

Friday's win was sweet redemption for the Eagles, who have won four straight games since dropping their season opener.

Collins Hill (4-1, 3-0) will host undefeated and No. 3-ranked Norcross for first place in Region 7-AAAAAA next week.

"It will be a dog fight," Collins Hill coach Kevin Reach said.

Friday's game against Peachtree Ridge started out as a slugfest. Sheehan led a pair of second-quarter, 80-yard scoring drives to give the Eagles a 14-10 halftime lead.

"They did a good job," Peachtree Ridge coach Mark Fleetwood said. "We got to the half and were in good shape."

Then Collins Hill opened the second half with Jones' 80-yard TD pass from Williams.

"We came out with a big play that sparked it. From there we were hyped," Henderson said.

Evan Pearson then stopped the Lions' Jordan Davis on fourth-and-one to give the Eagles the ball back at their own 41.

"That was huge. We came up with a big stop there," Reach said. "That was the play of the game."

Sheehan threw a 43-yard screen pass to Williams to set up Henderson's one-yard TD run. After the PAT was blocked, the Eagles led 27-10.

Sheehan was 21 of 28 passing for 301 yards and two TDs, completing passes to seven different receivers. Williams was his leading pass catcher with five receptions for 101 yards.

"I thought Brett did a nice job tonight," Reach said.

Collins Hill's defense, which was led by seven tackles from Daniel Fish and Rhyan England and six stops by Sterling Alexander and Raymere Thomas and an interception by Darrin Frye, made another defensive stand to give the Eagles the ball back.

"I was pleased with our defensive front. They played great," Reach said.

Sheehan went to work again with a 28-yard pass to Henderson, who then scored his third TD on a one-yard run. Henderson finished with 32 yards rushing and 58 yards receiving.

"He's a competitor. He's always ready to play week in and week out," Reach said. "He's not big in stature, but he plays like a giant."

England scored on a 32-yard pass from Sheehan in the fourth quarter to put the game away 41-10.

"They got after us and we couldn't recover," Fleetwood said.

Dominick Hall's sack of Sheehan on third down forced the Eagles to punt the ball inside their own 10. Drew Moody also had two sacks, while Devin Davidson made eight tackles and Dorian Pogman made six stops.

Travis Bowers caught the punt at midfield and returned it 38 yards to set up Bryson Sellers' one-yard TD run before the end of the first quarter. Bowers also blocked a PAT in the third quarter. Sellers was 12 of 23 passing for 166 yards.

Collins Hill responded with Sheehan throwing a four-yard TD pass to C.J. Davis to tie it 7-7.

The Lions (2-4, 2-2) drove to the Eagles six, but had to settle for a 20-yard field goal by Connor Rouleau to make it 10-7 with 3:38 left in the half.

Sheehan guided his second 80-yard scoring drive, converting on third down with a 10-yard pass to Henderson and throwing a 20-yard gain to Williams. Henderson scored on a five-yard run with 50 seconds left in the half to give Collins Hill a 14-10 lead.

"I wanted more. I was hungry," Henderson said.

Henderson scored two more TDs in the third quarter as the Eagles cruised to victory.

"Hat's off to Collins Hill. They played their tail off," Fleetwood said.
