ROSWELL -- Norcross split a pair of matches in opening round pool play of the Blessed Trininty Invitational on Friday night.
The Blue Devils (32-5) dropped their first match 25-18 and 25-16 to Milton. Norcross rebounded to defeat South Forsyth 25-23 and 28-26 in the evening match. Sydney Marshall led Norcross with 13 kills and 7 aces. Javonne Stanfield added 11 kills, Lindsay Holmes had 22 digs and Sammie Baker recorded 34 assists.
SOFTBALL
Providence falls to Prince Avenue
NICHOLSON -- Providence Christian dropped a 8-1 decision in the winners bracket game of the Region 8-A tournament Friday. The Storm will play George Walton at 10 a.m. today with the winner facing Prince Avenue at noon. In Friday's game, MacKenzie Tuttle led the storm with a hit and an RBI.
