Last week: Lost to Duluth 52-6
Mill Creek fell into a 35-point deficit in the third quarter to Norcross last week and rallied to make it a close game. A week after the loss, head coach Shannon Javis was still bitter about his team’s first-half performance.
“We’re going to get it corrected. You can mark my words,” Jarvis said.
Jarvis will see if those adjustments work Friday as they travel to Norcross to play Meadowcreek.
The Mustangs are winless this season and are coming off a 52-6 loss to Duluth a week ago. Keyon Rich had a 99-yard kickoff return for a touchdown, while running back Ryan Moore continues to be the bright spot on offense.
“His kids are going to play every single play and give everything they’ve got,” Jarvis said. “That’s a reflection of Coach (Deario) Grimmage.”
Mill Creek’s Michael Cheeks had 142 yards in kickoff returns a week ago, including a touchdown. He also made two catches for 62 yards.
“He had a great game and we were pleased with him,” Jarvis said. “He had a couple of big catches as well.”
The Hawks also got stellar play out of B.J. Harmon (eight tackles, one pass breakup) in the secondary.
Last meeting: Mill Creek won 59-0 last year
