Boy Scouts from around Gwinnett County will travel to Gainesville this weekend to compete in the Apalachee District Fall Camporee, a competition to build a better catapult.
The scouts will have creative freedom to use knots to built their catapult.
"Boys get a chance to use the skills taught in scouting in unique ways," said Phil Krajec, chair of the Apalachee District of the Boy Scouts. "The catapult takes ingenuity, creativity, and the direct application of the knots the boys learn to earn rank requirements."
The Apalachee District Fall Camporee is this weekend at Scoutland Boy Scout Reservation. Boy Scouts can sign up through their troops to attend the Fall Camporee.
The Apalachee District is in the Northeast Georgia Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
