Mill Creek quarterback Daniel David won online voting this week as the Daily Post's Fans Choice Player of the Week.

The sophomore quarterback got 42 percent of the vote to win a competition with Peachtree Ridge's Walden Davis (29 percent), Brookwood's Zach Moon (16 percent) and Duluth's Tyler Campbell (12 percent).

Each week during the football season, the Daily Post will nominate four players for its Fans Choice Player of the Week. Online voting at www.gwinnettprepsports.com will begin Monday mornings and will end Thursdays at noon. The winner will be featured online and in the Friday print edition.

David earned the honor after throwing for 247 yards and accounting for four touchdowns in a wild, 49-41 loss to state-ranked Norcross.

"Only a sophomore, Daniel has quickly asserted himself as a team leader this season," Mill Creek head coach Shannon Jarvis said. "He has a tremendous understanding of our offense and makes great decisions in both our passing and running game. He is a fierce competitor who is getting better and better each week and looks to improve every game regardless of his performance or the outcome."
