LAWRENCEVILLE -- The Gwinnett County League of Women Voters and its coalition partners will host a forum later this month for local U.S. Congress candidates.
Organizers said Wednesday that Republican incumbent Congressman Rob Woodall and 7th Congressional district challenger Steve Reilly, a Democrat, have confirmed their participation in the debate to be held on Monday, Oct. 15. Chris Vaughn -- Republican challenger for the 4th district -- had also confirmed, but organizers said Democratic incumbent Hank Johnson had not.
The candidate forum will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Gwinnett Technical College's Busbee Center. The college is located at 5150 Sugarloaf Parkway in Lawrenceville.
Each candidate will be asked identical questions and allotted equal time to provide responses, organizers said. Topics will include "contemporary and legislative issues regarding education, health care, immigration, economy, gender (and) environment."
Candidates will also answer questions submitted by the audience.
The event is hosted by a coalition of the Gwinnett County League of Women Voters, OCA-Georgia and the United Ebony Society of Gwinnett County.
