LAWRENCEVILLE -- Local State House Representative Buzz Brockway was one of three recent appointments to the Joint Human trafficking Study Commission.
Brockway, a Republican from Lawrenceville, will serve on the commission created during this year's legislative session after an FBI investigation named Atlanta as one of the 14 cities with the highest incidence of child prostitution. It is comprised of 13 members, ranging from politicians to a police chief and a child advocate.
The goal is to "create a comprehensive system of services for all victims of human trafficking that will enable these individuals to recover from their exploitation."
Brockway was appointed by Speaker of the House David Ralston.
"I look forward to working with the other members of the Study Committee on this very important issue," Brockway said in a statement. "Human trafficking is a brutal crime and every part of our community can play a role in providing the victims the help they need."

Yeah - he was appointed by the guy who took a 17,000 trip with his famil thanks to some lobbyest. I'm real impressed.
