DULUTH -- When Thomas Stanley answered the apartment door, someone shot him in the face, in broad daylight, police believe.
The shooting happened about 2 p.m. Wednesday at unit No. 7204 of an apartment complex on Club Drive near Duluth.
Police have identified Brooklyn resident Jovaugh Davy, 27, as the trigger man. He remains at large nearly a week later, according to jail records.
Davy's arrest warrants state that he used a dark-colored revolver to shoot Stanley in the face. Police have not released a motive and further information on the case was not available Tuesday. The injuries were not fatal.
Davy is charged with aggravated assault, aggravated battery and firearms possession.
Previously, Davy was arrested in Gwinnett in June 2009 on theft by receiving charges. He spent three months in jail and was held for questioning by Atlanta police and the U.S. Marshals Service, records show.
The theft case is pending in Gwinnett Superior Court.
