BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — After a stellar performance against No. 1 ranked Alabama on Saturday, Ole Miss linebacker Denzel Nkemdiche was named SEC Co-Defensive Player of the Week on Monday.
Nkemdiche, a 2011 Grayson grad, shared the honor with Georgia defensive back Sanders Commings.
The 5-foot-11, 203-pound Nkemdiche racked up a career-high 11 tackles, two tackles for loss, one sack and two forced fumbles against the Crimson Tide.
Nkemdiche leads Ole Miss and all SEC freshmen with six tackles for loss and tops the team in tackles and sacks.
