CROSS COUNTRY ROUNDUP: Brookwood girls second at Aubrae Gunderson Invitational

CONYERS — A week after winning the Gwinnett County championship, Brookwood's girls cross country team took second at the Aubrae Gunderson Invitational on Saturday.

The Broncos placed six runners in the top 20 to finish second with 58 points. Winder-Barrow won the race with 53 points. Mountain View was third with 94 points.

Claire Cashin's fifth-place finish and time of 20 minutes, 12 seconds led the Broncos. Briana Dennie (20:55) was 11th, Cameron Carson (20:58) was 13th, Caroline Sexton (21:07) was 14th, Diana Lane (21:07) was 15th and Ellen McCulston (21:31) was 18th.

Mountain View freshman Leonora Luce was second overall in the race with a time of 20:06.99. Rebecca Winslow (21:14.62) was 14th and Ashley Lewis (21:32.80) was 19th.

Dacula freshman Sabrina Seibel was third overall with a time of 20:08.58.

Panthers finish second at River Run

SUWANEE — Parkview had six runners finish in the top 20 as the Panthers took second place at the Lambert River Run on Saturday.

The Panthers scored 41 points to finish behind Lambert's 33 points.

Valerie Ward led the Panthers with a time of 20:41.92 and a fourth-place finish. Julie Wang (20:47.34) was fifth, Jessica Escorza (21:11.14) was eighth, Elizabeth Trompeter (21:15.61) was 10th, Rachel Hurst (21:29.98) was 14th and Caroline Williams (21:39.87) was 19th.

Eagles fifth at McCallie Invite

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — Collins Hill had three runners finish in the top 25 as it placed fifth at McCallie Invite on Saturday.

Mariah Maring was the Eagles' top finish with a time of 19 minutes, 39.91 seconds to take seventh overall. Lacey Ellenburg (20:30.39) was 18th and Kitty Moraes (20:56.45) was 25th.

Wilson guides Lions at Great American

CARY, N.C. — Peachtree Ridge's Laurel Wilson placed 49th overall to lead the Lions to a 23rd place finish at the Great American Cross Country Festival. Wilson posted a time of 19 minutes, 11.7 seconds.

Mill Creek finished 26th overall and was led by Hannah Lopez's 103rd-place finish and a time of 19:53.7.

Collins Hill third at McCallie Invite

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — Daniel Ellis was fourth overall at the McCallie Invite on Saturday to help the Eagles to a third-place finish.

Ellis had a time of 16 minutes, 31.60 seconds to lead the Eagles. Zach Stephens (16:46.50) was 10th and Jonathan Moses (16:53.77) was 13th.

Brickell third at Great American race

CARY, N.C. — Two-time defending state champion Josh Brickell placed third at the Great American Cross Country Festival on Saturday.

Brickell finished with a time of 14 minutes, 57.5 seconds. Peachtree Ridge finished 22nd out of 31 of the top teams in the Southeast.

Mill Creek was the top Georgia team by placing 12th overall. The Hawks were led by Eric Westog's 38th place finish a time of 15:45.8.

Parkview runner-up at River Run

SUWANEE — Parkview had five runners finish in the top 20 as it placed second at the Lambert River Run on Saturday.

The Panthers scored 66 points to edge Lambert by one point second. South Forsyth won the race with 61 points.

Timothy Bergman (17:46.20) led the Panthers with an eighth-place finish. Evan Long (18:06.53) was 12th, Benton Warren (18:07.42) was 13th, Akbar Jamani (18:16.58) was 16th and Jackson Wise (18:22.17) was 17th. Wyatt Gelpke (18:38.36) was 21st overall.
