LAWRENCEVILLE -- A pet sitter has begun a local effort as part of a national initiative aimed at helping homeless and hungry domestic animals.
Tina Mosely, owner of Your Pets' Pal, plans to make donations to Daffy's Pet Soup Kitchen, a local organization that provides basic pet supplies like food, treats and medication so that struggling families can afford to keep their pets at home.
"This makes the pets and families happy, and allows more shelter space for thousands of stray animals that exist," Mosely said. "It's a win-win solution to the problem."
There are currently four drop-off locations for donations. Those who wish to help can drop off pet foods or pet products through Dec. 12 at one of the following locations:
-- Benton's Fine Jewelry & Repair 232B W. Crogan St., Lawrenceville
-- Sugar Creek Animal Hospital 6603 Sugarloaf Parkway, Duluth
-- North GA Veterinary Specialists 1328 Buford Highway, Building 200, Buford
-- Morningside Animal Care Center 929 Buford Drive, Lawrenceville
Mosely is also offering to pick up donations. To have donations picked up, call 770 905-5083. For more information, visit www.yourpetspalnow.com.
