J. Alton Jones, age 84 of Buford, died November 28, 2012. A Graveside Service will be held 1:00 PM Saturday December 1, 2012 at White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Duluth. Mr. Jones was born in Duluth, GA and was a 1947 graduate of Duluth High School. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict where he served as a staff Sergeant from October 1950 to July 1955. He was a retired insurance clerk for General Motors. Mr. Jones is survived by his sisters Gladys Burke of Buford, Joann Kimbro of Buford and step brother Nathan White of Buford. The family will receive friends Friday 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM and Saturday 12:00 to 12:45 PM at Bill Head Funeral Homes and Crematory Duluth Chapel 770-476-2535.
