LILBURN -- A Lilburn man is in critical condition after being robbed and shot in his own driveway Wednesday night.
The victim, who was not identified, came home to his residence on Greenleaf Drive at about 7 p.m. Wednesday night and was approached by a black male in his driveway, Lilburn Police Department spokesman Capt. Ben Haynes said. The resident was "robbed of his wallet and shot one time in the rear," Haynes said.
The victim's wife, who was inside the home, called police as the suspect fled on foot. The victim was transported to Gwinnett Medical Center from the home near U.S. Highway 29.
He was in critical condition, Haynes said Wednesday.
The suspect is identified only as a black male with a slim build who was wearing a white T-shirt and black pants. Authorities believe the incident was likely random.
"I don't have nay indication that they knew each other," Haynes said.
Anyone with information is asked to call Lilburn police Det. Bert Ross at 770-638-2182.
