Trey Johnson, one of the first commitments in Auburn's 2013 recruiting class, is no longer committed to the Tigers.
The Central Gwinnett senior, one of the nation's top linebacker prospects, decommitted officially on Tuesday, according to Central head coach Todd Wofford.
"Trey wants to be fair to himself and to the teams that he has interest in," Wofford said in a text message. "He isn't going to address Auburn until they name a coach."
Johnson committed to Auburn in August, 2011, just before his junior season and after the Tigers won the BCS National Championship. But they struggled to a 3-9 record this season that resulted in this week's dismissal of head coach Gene Chizik.
Ohio State and Florida have emerged as the two major competitors with Auburn in the race for Johnson, a four-star linebacker who will play in the upcoming Under Armour All-American Game. He visited Ohio State this past weekend and has a visit to Florida scheduled next month.
