DECATUR — Police near Atlanta are investigating the death of a 2-year-old boy.
Authorities say Michael Weeks was found unresponsive Saturday inside a unit at the Ivy Park Apartments on Memorial Drive in DeKalb County. Emergency crews tried to revive the boy, but they were unsuccessful.
Police questioned witnesses, but no charges were immediately filed.
Authorities say the child was being cared for by his stepfather while his mother was away running some errands.
A police report said the stepfather ran to a neighbor's door asking for help, and the boy was later found unresponsive on a bed. He was then taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
