CUMMING — Wesleyan's girls basketball team held off a Duluth rally to win the championship game of the North Forsyth tournament 45-42 Wednesday night.
The Wolves' Katie Frerking hit two free throws with 6.2 seconds left in the game and the Wildcats were unable to sink their shot to tie the game at the buzzer.
It was a back and forth game all night as the Wildcats (2-1) led by two after both the first and third quarters and the Wolves (3-0) led by five at the half.
Frerking led Wesleyan with 20 points and Kendra Talley added 11 for the champions. Duluth was led by Katie Powell and Joi Jones, who scored 14 and 10 respectively.

BOYS
St. Pius 49, Wesleyan 38
CUMMING — St. Pius defeated Wesleyan 49-38 on Wednesday in the North Forsyth tournament.
Will Clifton led the Wolves (1-2) with 19 points.
WRESTLING
Mountain View wins three
LAWRENCEVILLE — Mountain View swept a quad wrestling meet it hosted Wednesday afternoon with victories over Jackson (68-6), Lithonia (48-21) and North Forsyth (37-36).
Eight Mountain View wrestlers finished with 3-0 records on the day: Adam Flatt at 106 pounds, Kevin Truglio at 113, Kenny Cook at 120, Tony Torres at 132, Kacy Gutierrez at 138, Sterling Pyles at 152, Jake Gandara at 170 and Octavian Jarda at 182.
The Bears (8-0) will host the upcoming Mountain View Duals, which will feature 10 teams, on Dec. 1.
Meadowcreek 3rd at Blue Devil Classic
NORCROSS — Led by a first-place finish at 182 pounds from Ryan Moore, Meadowcreek finished in a tie for third with Lambert in the Blue Devil Classic this week at Norcross.
The Mustangs went 5-3 in the 11-team tournament, beating Dacula, Lanier, Northview, Duluth and Chamblee. Meadowcreek lost to first-place finisher Chattahoochee, runner-up North Gwinnett and Lambert. Lambert and Meadowcreek tied because Lambert lost to Dacula.
Finishing second for the Mustangs (7-4) were Robert Nguyen (120) and Rene Deluna (132). Raymond Washington (113) finished fourth.
Archer wins the Parkview Duals
LILBURN — Archer went 5-0 Wednesday to win the Parkview Duals, beating Paulding County (60-13), Lumpkin County (73-6), Loganville (59-9), Woodland (55-12) and Gilmer (56-6).
The Tigers got undefeated days from DaQuan Olbert, Sam Bullard, Chris Diaz, Daniel Bullard, Elliot Lee, Ernest Alexander and M.J. Couzan.
Archer, now 10-0 with two tournament championships, wrestles at home in the Takedown Sportswear Duals on Saturday. It is a 12-team event that begins at 9 a.m.
