For residents of unincorporated Gwinnett, Thanksgiving Day is a trash and recycling holiday. According to county officials, pickups usually sheduled for Thursday will be rescheduled for Friday and Friday pickups will be rescheduled for Saturday.
The county offices will also be closed Thursday and Friday, although a Magistrate Court judge will be available at the Gwinnett Detention Center.

Although I would prefer to contract with the hauler of my choice, I cannot complain about the service I receive from the current hauler.

I'm personally paying 140 percent MORE for the SAME thing I had privately.
Gotta love it when you PAY MUCH MORE for the same. It wasn't even advertised as "new and improved" first! Or maybe it was...

Like you we pay to much as well. My employer permitted the employees to use his dumpster as an employee benefit. Then the County led by now resigned Bannister, convicted Lassiter and may soon to be convicted Kenerly along with Mike B dreamed up this plan that Connie Wiggins and Gwinnett Clean and Beautiful to give is this service. OH What service? Get government out of the trash service and stop collecting in advance. Let the citizens decide who they want.

I too pay almost double. However Ms. Wiggins told me that I didn't pay that. I would also like to see the government out of cable business too among many other things. Then maybe they could run the things they are suppose to efficiently. Oh wait, I'm dreaming again.

Wiggins will tell you anything she can in order to have you in the forced garbage plan. When Roy Barnes had her in court she did not know how or what to she when she was questioned. Then GC&B went to the BOC and got this plan for us. Would like to know what is done with the money from her recycling business, like the Chamber we may never know.

So don't forget residents if you have a trash related question, please call your hauler DIRECTLY to resolve it on your OWN or call the county hot line at 1 800 GET LOST.
Its SO nice to know the county collects the admin fee on the tax bill to pay for the program staff's days off and so we have someone that remembers to REMIND you to take care of your OWN problems...
I wonder what it would cost us in FEES to get the people we PAY to do SOME real "admining", but I'm afraid we'll find out sooner than we'd like, because FEES will increase you know ...
