LAWRENCEVILLE -- Kevon Tucker hit a turnaround jumper in the lane with five seconds left to lift Dacula to a 62-61 overtime win over Collins Hill in Monday's boys basketball action at the Archer Classic at Archer High School.
Tucker finished with nine points, four of which came in the extra frame. Brandon Goodson led the Falcons (2-0) with 20 points, while Cameron Lewis had 14 points and 11 rebounds and Jaylen Williams finished with 13 points.
Collins Hill's Devin Mitchell led all scorers with 22 points, while Darius Joell added 10 points for the Eagles.
Duluth 65, Starr's Mill 43
CUMMING -- Savion Griffin-Bey scored 18 points Monday as Duluth's boys basketball team remained perfect on the young season with a 65-43 win over Starr's Mill in the North Forsyth Challenge.
Shamus Goss scored 14 for the Wildcats (2-0) and Ify Imachukwu added 12 points. Duluth plays St. Pius at 3 p.m. Tuesday for the tourney title.
Mill Creek 71, M.L. King 58
SUWANEE -- Elijah Bryant scored 20 points and pulled down seven rebounds, while Trevon Shaw had 18 points and eight boards as Mill Creek downed M.L. King 71-58 in the Jared Cook Invitational on Monday at North Gwinnett High School.
T.J. Christopher also chipped in with 14 points and four blocked shots for the Hawks (2-0), while Chase Duffy added five points and five blocks.
Central 63, Monroe Area 28
LOGANVILLE -- Shaun Jones scored 14 points to lead Central Gwinnett past Monroe Area 63-28 in the Walton-Gwinnett Challenge.
Mike Vos-Otin added 13 points for the Black Knights (2-1).
Central next plays Walnut Grove at 11 a.m. Tuesday.
Brookwood 76, Walnut Grove 57
LOGANVILLE -- Brookwood topped Walnut Grove 76-57 on Monday at the Walton-Gwinnett Challenge.
The Broncos (2-0) had eight players who scored five points. All 13 players scored in the game.
Brookwood's next matchup will be at 8 p.m. Tuesday against Loganville.
Archer 74, Kennesaw Mountain 57
LAWRENCEVILLE -- Randall Smith scored 16 points to lead Archer past Kennesaw Mountain 74-57 on Monday at the Archer Classic.
Nafis Floyd had 11 points for the Tigers (2-0).
Andrew Jiminez, Ed Lott and Aaron Barris each scored 13 for Kennesaw Mountain.
Creekview 61, Wesleyan 57
CUMMING -- Will Clifton scored 23 points for Wesleyan in a 61-57 loss against Creekview.
Jaylen Clarke scored 12 points, and Charles Mack scored 11 for the Wolves (1-1).
Landmark Christian 86, Hebron Christian 72
LOGANVILLE -- Ryan Thomas scored 27 points, but it wasn't enough for the Hebron Christian, which fell to Landmark Christian 86-72 on Monday in the Walton-Gwinnett Challenge at Loganville.
The Lions (0-2) are back in action Tuesday at 2 p.m. against Temple.
Central 70, Monroe Area 32
LAWRENCEVILLE -- Central Gwinnett made 8 of 13 shots from 3-point range and cruised to a 70-32 victory over Monroe Area in the Walton-Gwinnett Challenge on Monday.
Alexandra Frazier led the Black Knights (2-1) with 19 points (on 8 of 11 shooting), four assists and five steals.
Central's Jackie Finnegan scored 15 points and made all three of her 3-point shots and teammate Briana McGee had 12 points and eight steals.
Collins Hill 43, Dacula 40
LAWRENCEVILLE -- Brittany Stowers scored 13 points and collected seven rebounds in Collins Hill's 43-40 win over Dacula at the Archer Classic on Monday.
Bre'Anna Singleton added nine points, six assists and seven steals for the Eagles (2-1), and Emylee Whitten had eight points, two assists and two steals.
Jonnae Johnson led the Falcons (1-1) with nine points, Star Toomey had seven points and eight rebounds, Faustine Aifuwa had five points and eight rebounds and Katelyn Daniels added five steals.
Brookwood 73, Walnut Grove 36
LOGANVILLE -- Brookwood had 11 different players score, led by Courtney Gardner's 13 points, to roll to a 73-36 win over Walnut Grove at the Walton-Gwinnett Challenge on Monday at Loganville High School.
Rebecca Walker, Nija Kurien and Shelby Hunter each added 11 points for the Broncos (2-0), who take on host Loganville Tuesday night at 6:30.
Archer 48, Kennesaw Mountain 22
LAWRENCEVILLE -- Madison Newby led Archer with 21 points, five steals and three assists in a 48-22 win over Kennesaw Mountain on Monday at the Archer Classic.
Kayla Rogers had nine points, Alesha Mann had eight points and five steals, and Morgan Jackson had eight points and eight rebounds for the Tigers (2-0).
The Mustangs were led by Jaylah Carr's five points.
Providence 51, Johnson 32
GAINESVILLE -- Jessie Kowalewicz had 18 points to lead Providence in a 51-32 win over Johnson on Monday.
Allie Petmecky scored 13 points for the Storm (1-0).
Hebron 62, Landmark 32
LOGANVILLE -- Amber Skidgel had a game-high 24 points Monday as Hebron Christian defeated Landmark Christian 62-32 in the Walton-Gwinnett Challenge at Loganville.
The Lions (1-1) also got nine points from Emily Helton, nine points and 10 rebounds from Brooke Davis and 10 rebounds from Jodie Lewis.
Hebron lost to Grayson 38-35 in its season opener Saturday night despite 12 points from Skidgel.
