Phillip Phillips to appear at Mall of Georgia

BUFORD -- "American Idol" winner and Georgia native Phillip Phillips is scheduled to perform a free concert at the Mall of Georgia on Wednesday.

Known for his single, "Home," Phillips will perform songs from his debut album, "The World from the Side of the Moon" from 6:30 to 7 p.m. at the mall's Village Amphitheatre.

From 7 to 9 p.m. the singer is signing copies of his CD. Fans who purchase or bring a copy of this album will receive a wrist band for the autograph line.

Attendees are invited to bring lawn chairs and blankets.

Phillips returns to the area on Dec. 13 as part of the Star 94 Jingle Jam at the Arena at Gwinnett Center. Joining Phillips is Jason Mraz, Ed Sheeran, Grace Potter, Andy Grammer and Alex Clare. Tickets for that concert are available through Ticketmaster.

Maybe he could perform at (you guessed it) the Phillips arena in Atlanta.

I went in for open heart surgery the day of his final American Idol performance. I made my entire family promise to vote for him, and to vote from my phone too Woke up four days later in ICU to find out he won. My peeps had to honor a solem deadbeth promise. I'll be there tomorrow at Mall of GA... and I'll be at the head of the line. He can thank me then!
