Loganville tree lighting is Nov. 23

LOGANVILLE -- For some, putting up the Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving is a tradition.

In Loganville, officials are asking residents to come out to City Hall Nov. 23 for an evening featuring photos with Santa, hot drinks, cookies and a tree lighting ceremony to include all in the annual tradition.

Mayor Ray Nunley will officially count down the seconds before the tree is lit.

At 6 p.m. Santa will arrive on the American Legion No. 233 40 & 8 Train, and he will take his position in his sleigh for photos, which are free of charge. The prints will be returned to photo recipients digitally following the event.

Loganville City Councilwoman Michelle Lynch said the fourth annual event is a good time for all.

"There is no better way to kick off the holiday season than coming out to the annual Loganville Tree Lighting event," Lynch said.

Loganville City Hall is located at 4385 Pecan St., Loganville. The event will run from 6 to 8 p.m.
