LETTERS: Should we just let the Census decide who's president?

American public are the losers of election, not GOP

The columns on the Nov. 11 Perspective pages by Esther Cepeda and Kathleen Parker seem to have the same theme of why Mitt Romney and the Republican Party lost the presidential election.

First of all I don't believe that Mitt Romney and the Republican Party lost the election -- the American people will be the losers. Both writers seem to believe that the GOP needs to be more inclusive of blacks, Hispanics, Asians, gays, young people and women in order to win a presidential election. Since when are these groups not Americans first? Who do they need to be inclusive of next -- Irish Americans, French Americans, Slavic Americans, short Americans, tall Americans?

Or are all of these other groups considered Americans first and they are concerned about the welfare and best interest of the country? If the Democratic party is so inclusive of these groups why is the unemployment rate for blacks and Hispanics much higher than other groups? With contraceptives being provided by the Government why are 40 percent of children being born out of wedlock?

With all of the other serious issues facing this country it appears that the Democratic party has been successful in fragmenting the American population and is not interested in what is best for all citizens. If the president is going to be elected on the basis of demographic maybe we do not need elections anymore we can just take the census every four years, tally the groups, and declare a winner.

With so much wrong with Romney, I find it so funny for people to attempt to rationalize the loss. Even Bush received a higher percentage of Mormon votes in 2008 than Romney did in 2008. With only 8% of Mormons considering themselves liberal, one should ask why Romney, an official in the Mormon Church couldn't even match Bush. http://www.sltrib.com/sltrib/politics/55245720-90/percent-romney-mormon-vote.html.csp

Congratulations. You keep proving that Republicans do not vote for selfish reasons or revenge. Your type proves we need an IQ test for voters.

Romney lost because of the fact many Americans want something (a safety net) for nothing. This is fact. Just ask one of the "47%" who are making about $1,400- $1,700 a month doing nothing for this money now. No jobs, thanks to Obama. No Liberal can face that fact. All the people (100%) are the ones that lost this election. There are just too many morons in this country and it starts with our families (don't provide for their own), our public schools system, and the NE colleges who brainwash our kids. These Liberals are desperately trying to get folks to accept less to live with for the sake of bigger government to take care of them. Where does the word "moron" come into play in all this? Folks can't think for themselves and for the good of the country, the never read our Constitution, and they can't accept responsibility for themselves or their poor actions. Divide & conquer is the Liberal motto and the morons can't see this coming. Liberals have taken advantage of this fact. You reap what you sow.

It is historic to say our country had its first "black" President, but lets be honest and admit many of those first time voters will never vote again. Liberals have proven that they are the most uninformed voting block.

It is sad that liberals are delusionally excited about the masses turning into what they perceive as a greater America. Having the rest of the World look at our country, cheering on that we have re-elected an ineffective socialist leader, is appauling. Liberals ant us to turn into a lower class country, and the rest of the planet is glad our power is sinking.

So NO, the census should not decide who is President, that is exactly the reason why our country is in dire straights. History is not on the side of the democrats, it is on the side of the Republicans..

If the census decided who became President...........

the 186 people living in my three room house would make a formidable voting bloc.

Using the census details would include those living within our borders illegally, so it would be cheaper than passing the Dream Act or its little brother Dream Act - lite.

Put an end the borders all together and make us a 4th class country overnight with 57 states …
