The Gwinnett County Diamond Club held its season-ending banquet Monday night at Providence Christian Academy to honor the county's best from high school fastpitch softball this season.

Archer, which won the school's first-ever state title last month, was named team of the year and the Tigers' leader, Kris Daniels, was voted county coach of the year. Archer senior Nani Cabrales also was selected as Gwinnett's pitcher of the year.

The other top award-winners were Brookwood's Mandy Blackwell (player of the year), Peachtree Ridge's Sam Pierannunzi (offensive player of the year), Brookwood's Susan Norris (defensive player of the year) and Class AAA state champion Buford, which was voted program of the year.
