MARIETTA — Cobb County police have identified a pedestrian killed by a Jeep as 55-year-old Jose Luis Zamarripa-Perez of Smyrna.
Police said in a statement that he was trying to cross South Cobb Drive on Sunday evening when the driver of a 1990 Jeep Cherokee struck him as the vehicle was heading south.
Authorities say the man was not in a pedestrian crosswalk as he tried to cross the street.
Police said the driver of the Jeep is not expected to face charges.
