LAWRENCEVILLE -- In this tough economy, it's nice to know that there are people willing to give you a hand, especially at A Day of Hope Foundation.
On Saturday from noon to 4 p.m., the nonprofit is hosting a free "compassion event" at the lawn of the Gwinnett Historic Courthouse with activities and live entertainment for everyone in the family.
A kids zone features bounces houses, face painting, crafts and snacks. The "teen scene" has dance expressions, music groups and a life coach with messages of hope. The adults can receive counseling, free medical testing and eye exams, and job skill resources.
There is an evening concert scheduled for 4 to 8 p.m. at the courthouse gazebo.
A Day of Hope's mission is "to bring hope to the people in our community by connecting them with available resources to address their spiritual, emotional and physical needs."
